The wages definition has been re-defined in consonance with the Wage Code and thereby, all / any allowances put together in whatever be the nomenclature, would be restricted to 50% of the wages as defined in the new definition. Henceforth, any allowances paid in excess of the 50% of the wages, will be considered as wages and will attract EPF Contributions
